Investors Stick With Healthcare ETFs In Spite Of Market Turbulence

During the health care legislative debate in 2010, Health Care ETFs served as the investments everyone loved to hate. And in 2010, as the overwhelming majority of sector ETFs notched remarkable returns, health care had been stuck in neutral.

Until 2011.

Suddenly, the most undervalued sector on a historical P/E ratio basis began to ignore Obamacare uncertainty. In fact, as it currently stands, the year-to-date results for pharma, biotech, providers, medical devices and the sector at large sit just below 52-week highs. Most of these ETFs are enjoying double-digit returns from 1/1/11-7/22/11.

However, while nobody doubts the demographic reasons for Healthcare ETFs, others question current valuations. Still others are troubled by the propsect of ongoing legislative battles. What do you think?
